If you aspire to work for a security company or an national security service then according to the Cabinet Regulation on “The Procedure  for Issuance of the Security Certificate”, in order to obtain a security certificate, a person must acquire education in one of the following educational programmes:

As a result of the learning process, the student acquires the necessary skills and knowledge of basic level,  which are required for performing activities of a security guard and are not related to setting up technical security systems.

Within the framework of the educational programme, students receive basic knowledge of law on activities performed by the security guard, strategy of activities by the security guard, use of technical security system and technical devices in the activities by the security guard, as well as basic knowledge and skills concerning arrest and application of specific measures in the activities of the security guard.

 

Upon the completion of the programme, students receive a certificate on the refresher programme.

An 80-hour lecture (length – 10 days). The extension of the validity of the certificate without taking an examination at the State Police Office, if the validity is prolonged before its expiry (not earlier than 3 months and not later than 1 month before the expiry date), the test is not required for a person who has attended an 80-hour course during the validity period of the security certificate in one or more educational topics:

– physical force and application of various measures in security;

– contact psychology for security;

–peculiarities of security for facilities;

– topical information regarding legal regulations on security operations;

– conduct of security personnel in the event of various threats;

– aspects of security job upon a mobile call;

– technical equipment and technical systems for the security;

– the usage of firearms and its regulations and procedure during performance of  security services; 

– ensuring fire safety requirements during performance of security services.

– person’s physical features and their (verbal) description.

A 480-hour vocational further education programme „Security of persons and property”, with a qualification to be obtained– Security Guard  (code 20T 861 00 1). The length of the course – 3.5 months.

The students in this educational programme are offered knowledge and skills required for activities of the security guard in order to be able to perform this job professionally and in accordance with the law regulating the duties of a security guard. Upon completion of the programme, the student becomes a security guard with the right to work for a security company or a national security service.

A 240-hour internship is a part of the programme, allowing the student to strengthen their knowledge, skills and competences acquired in the theoretical and practical lessons. Upon graduation, the student obtains a qualification of the Security Guard which corresponds to the second level of vocational qualification.

 

940-hour vocational educational programme  „Security of Persons and Property”, with the qualification to be obtained– Security Guarding Organizer (code 30T 861 00 1 ). The length of the programme – 7 months.

During this programme, the student acquires knowledge and skills to be able to ensure security and safety in the facility to be guarded, organize work during events organised at the facility to be guarded, conduct a security audit, develop a security action concept for the facility to be guarded, consult the employees at the facility in security matters, handle security systems, control the installation, operation and maintenance of the security systems, plan and organize themselves and security guards in order to perform the tasks properly at the facility to be guarded, develop internal safety regulations within their own competence and the safety concept of the facility, make decisions within their competence, and provide first aid.

A 240-hour internship is included in the educational programme to strengthen the knowledge, skills and competences acquired in the theoretical and practical lessons. Upon graduation, a student is given a qualification of Security Guarding Organizer, which corresponds the third level vocational education.

During the study process, we prepare security guarding organizers, who will be able to work for security companies or national security service, where they will ensure safety of the assets in the facility, commercial operations, personnel and visitors, and offer proposals to the management on how to improve the security of the facility, organize observation of the regulations on security, fire safety, environmental law and other regulations at the facility to be guarded.

Note that pursuant to Article 15 of the Security Guard Activities Law, it is prohibited to issue the security guard certificate to a person:

1) who has been punished for committing an intentional criminal offence or for a criminal offence committed under the influence of alcoholic beverages, narcotic or other intoxicating substances – prior to the extinguishment or setting aside of the conviction;

2) who has been convicted of committing the criminal offence provided for in Clause 1 of this Section by releasing from the punishment or serving of the punishment – if less than a year has passed since the ruling to release from the punishment or serving of the punishment entered into effect;

3) who has been released from criminal liability for committing the criminal offence provided for in Clause 1 one of this Section – less than a year has passed since the decision entered into effect;

4) who has been conditionally released from criminal liability for committing the criminal offence provided for in Clause 1 of this Section – prior to expiration of the probationary period;

5) to whom the status of the accused has been applied in criminal proceedings for committing the criminal offence provided for in Clause 1 of this Section;

6) who has been administratively punished for violations committed under the influence of alcoholic beverages, narcotic, psychotropic, toxic or other intoxicating substances, for refusal to submit to a medical test for alcohol concentration, as well as a test for narcotic or other intoxicating substances, for petty hooliganism, for intentional infliction of insignificant bodily harm, or for malicious non-compliance with lawful orders or requests of a police employee, a border guard, or guardsman, as well as a soldier – less than a year has passed since the administrative punishment was enforced;

7) whose security guard certificate has been cancelled during the last year;

8) who has been diagnosed with mental disorders, addiction to alcohol, narcotic, psychotropic, or toxic substances, or behavioural disorders;

9) who has not attained 18 years of age;

10) who does not have the necessary level of proficiency in the official language

It is prohibited to issue the security guard certificate to a person:
